Coupon Crazy!!!

A few years back I watched the premier of a show called "Extreme Couponing" & immediately became hooked on the idea of saving a bunch of money by using coupons. I tried it for a bit and quickly became burnt out from trying to catch EVERY deal I could find. Back then I simply wanted the "rush" that comes from seeing your total drop down to mere pennies. I think all newbie couponers go through this stage but it is important to realize that we don't HAVE to go get every deal that comes out free for us. I remember buying hair dye because it came out free and never even using it! In the end I just gave it away to friends and family.

I've recently decided to try once again since I know I have the time to do it and since we now live in a bigger city, it wouldn't hurt to save a few bucks here & there. ;)

Have you ever tried your hand at couponing? What kind of things held you back? Did you have the newbie rush of trying to call all the deals in one day? Have any tips for others that you'd like to share? :)

If you have any questions for me on couponing please comment below! I'd love to help others learn how to save! :)

Blessings!

Procrastination.

It has been a long time since I've made a post on my blog. It's not that I don't have ideas, but I just seem to say "I'll type it up later" & never get around to it!

A ton of things have changed since my last post. I got married & moved to Florida, started school for Cyber security, and have grown spiritually tremendously! Yahweh has opened so many doors for me. I am often amazed at how my life has changed in the past year. If anyone would have told me a year and a half ago that I would be here in Florida, married and studying for cyber security, I'd probably laugh in their face!

I've been truly blessed. My husband is a caring, gentle man that has shown me that I don't always have to be the hyped up woman that I used to be when someone stepped on my toes. I have learned patience & understanding like no other! He has taught me by example. His spirit is so sweet and thoughtful. -blush- I could go on & on.

We have been married a year & six months. It's hard to believe that it is going to be two years in a short matter of time. It definitely doesn't feel like it. Right now we are planning a move to a bigger city. We have been so busy trying to find an apartment there & getting things packed up & ready to go. I've been perusing Pinterest for moving tips & tricks. You'd be surprised how many times I end up thinking "Now why didn't I think of that?!" It's the simplest things!

I hope that you all are doing great and that Yahweh has blessed you all in the past couple years. I will begin to update you more often on things going on & things that I start doing. I have a laundry soap recipe that you all may enjoy! I will be posting that recipe soon. :)

Yahweh Bless you!

I Give Myself Away - William McDowell

I wanted to share this video with you all because it really touched me. This song by William McDowell is one of my favorites, and this group did such a great job at performing to it. I hope it touches each and every one of you. We gotta remember to give our whole self to God to use us for His will,His plans <3 We shouldn't worry about anything that has to do with OUR wants/needs because God has us covered already!!! We just need to give him 100% of US so that He can do what He wants with us. How could we ever fail then? :)

10 lbs in One Month Challenge!

I've challenged myself to try my best to get HEALTHY. No,I am not looking to lose weight to "look pretty". I think as Christians we should be taking care of our body a whole lot. The bible says that our body is a temple:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Knowing this,we should not be letting our body be hurt by harmful substances or just blatantly not taking care of ourselves! I want to bring praise to God in a body that I feel will bring Him glory, because I took care of it as He told me. If you really think about it,if WE hold the Holy Spirit in us,and the Holy Spirit is a GIFT from God,then why would we NOT want to treat our body like royalty in care?

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 ESV

Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.

My plan is to do mostly cardio to lose the extra weight, then start working on strength with weights. I know this is going to be a tough journey. I have gotten used to eating fast food and really not caring as to what I put into my body. In honesty,I feel so guilty for poisoning my body with chemicals that affect my body negatively. I am going to try my best to not eat out anymore & to cook my food at home so that I know what is in it. It is such a blessing that we are giving the opportunity to have food available to cook and eat. Many other countries do not have that. Yet we take it for granted every day! It is sad how we have forgotten the blessing a home cooked meal can be to our families.

Romans 12:1-2 ESV

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

If you would like to join me in my challenge let me know! :) I will be posting updates on my progress when I get a chance. I look forward to hearing your opinions and I hope you will join me.

God Bless!

MmmmMMMmmm Banana Bread!

So I have gotten into this "mood" of baking lately which is really weird for me because I am really not patient enough to bake. I like to be mixing, stirring etc and not just sitting around waiting for the timer to go....DING!

This week I had a sweet tooth and when me and some family members went to the store,I saw a loaf of banana bread that looked DE-LI-CIOUS. Normally I would just buy the banana bread already made, but since I've been trying to learn new things and be a "modern vintage woman",I decided to google a recipe and try to make it myself.

This is what I came up with! :) (the pictures may not look too great because I took them on my iPod)
In a large bowl, stir together the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, mix well. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt, stir into the butter mixture until smooth. Finally, fold in the sour cream, walnuts and bananas. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool loaf in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
Okay,my oven door was a little dirty -blush-.

If you'd like to try this recipe for yourself Here's the recipe! Good luck! You will LOVE this banana bread. It is so soft and fluffy and mmm mmmm GOOD! :))

God Bless! <3

"Home Sweet Home" Project 1-Squeaky Clean Floors

I've been working on making a schedule for myself to get all the things that need to be done around the house done, such as detail cleaning the bathroom, kitchen and living room.  Anywhere that guests could possibly see when they come over. I want to make the place look spotless but at the same time keep it looking like a home where people actually live.
Last week my goal was to scrub the floors clean of all the dirt stains and stubborn dirt that creeps into the cracks of the tile in the kitchen.

It took me about two days with help from all the girls in the house to finish and we left the floor looking great.  I really wish I would have took a "before" picture to show you all the difference between the beginning and the end.

We spent about 2 hours a day on our knees scrubbing the tile with antibacterial sprays and it was worth it.  I am looking into learning more about making my own cleaning products to save my family money and also make it "safer"  for the young ones.  I have a few ideas that I will share with you all later in other posts. If you all have any homemade cleaning product recipes feel free to share them with me! I enjoy learning new things that benefit not only myself but my family as well.
The picture above is a picture of the floor about 2 days after we cleaned it up. It is a little messy but that's what happens when you have people walking in and out! =o)

Choosing to trust in Him.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." -Proverbs 3:5-6
